Entry Requirements

Candidates should have -
(a) (i) Level 2 or equivalent [Note (1)] or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong
Diploma of Secondary Education Examination(HKDSEE) [Note (2)], or equivalent; or
(ii) Level 2 [Note(3)] / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of
Education Examination (HKCEE) [Note (2)], or equivalent; and
(b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note (3)] or above in Chinese
Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent.
Remarks
(1) “Attained with Distinction” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2)The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(3)‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
 

Duties

Please note that the post require outdoor work, including inspection of outdoor facilities
built by Kwai Tsing District Office or funded by the Kwai Tsing District Council, for
example, planter boxes and rainshelters.

Depending on the operational needs, a Community Organizer(Part-time) will be assigned
to provide assistance or clerical and secretarial support in the following aspects-
(i) Formation and development of mutual aid committees and owners' corporations and
heighten their interest in community affairs;
(ii) Community affairs or events such as fight crime campaigns;
(iii) Management of community centres and community halls;
(iv) Research work and to reflect the views of the public;
(v) Organization of community involvement campaigns and projects;
(vi) Daily operation of District Council and the Committees/Working Groups under
District Council;
(vii) Organization of district activities or events;

Other duties also include -
(i) To inspect district facilities such as planter boxes and rainshelters; and
(ii) To carry out any other duties assigned by Kwai Tsing District Office.

Terms of Appointment

(i) Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms;\r\n(ii) A contract of up to 1 year will be offered to successful candidates. The entry pay, \r\nterms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions\r\nprevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made. Further renewal should be subject\r\nto satisfactory performance and operational needs; and\r\n(iii) Successful candidates may be required to work outdoor, irregular hours and on\r\nSundays or General Holidays.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the website of Civil Service

Completed forms together with copies of academic and professional qualification
certificates and official transcripts should reach the enquiry address on or before the
closing date of application. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid to avoid
unsuccessful delivery of application. Any underpaid mail items will be disposed of by the
Hong Kong Post.

For submissions by post, the deadline is based on the stamp chop date. For submissions in

Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation within
