Entry Requirements

Candidates should have:
(a) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies from a Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a Technical Institute/Technical College, or equivalent;
(b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note (1)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and
(c) at least five years’ full-time working experience in building works [Note (2)].

Application will not be considered if they fail to meet any of the entry requirements above by the closing date for application.
(1) For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.

(2) Applicant(s) should state under the “Nature of Work” section in G.F. 340 whether each of their employment involves full-time work experience in building works.

(3) Successful candidate(s) may be required to work outdoor, in irregular hours and on public holidays.


Successful candidate(s) will be deployed to the sections/offices in the Planning and Lands Branch of the Development Bureau to undertake the following duties [(Note 3)]:
(a) to prepare and update drawings, site information plans, layout plans, management charts and schedules;
(b) to provide information and liaise with government departments, consultants, suppliers on matters relating to drawings;
(c) to co-ordinate architectural, building services and engineering drawings;
(d) to verify drawings prepared by consultants;
(e) to conduct site visit and gather information for preparing drawings;
(f) to maintain and update record of drawings;
(g) to print drawing and co-ordinate distribution; and
(h) to perform any other duties assigned by the Bureau

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidate(s) will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for an initial period of one year.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$22,725 per month
(a) 14 days paid annual leave in respect of each leave year will be granted for employment under a continuous contract for not less than 12 months.
(b) The benefits in respect of rest days, statutory holidays, maternity leave or paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
(c) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission of application.
