Entry Requirements

Candidates should have:
(a) good knowledge of government procedures and at least three years of experience in managing and coordinating government works projects;
(b) good understanding of the government procurement procedures and preferably a fair understanding of the operation of the GFS;
(c) at least three years of experience in vetting technical documents submitted by contractors;
(d) at least twenty years of experience working in a supervisory position;
(e) good knowledge on aviation safety requirements and any other requirements stipulated by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and the Airport Authority Hong Kong;
(f) good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; and
(g) knowledge of common office applications, including Word Processing, Excel and Powerpoint.

Duties

(a) To assist in the long-term accommodation planning and management of the GFS Headquarters;
(b) To liaise with Works Departments and other stakeholders on the construction or renovation arrangement of works projects;
(c) To monitor the progress and assist in the site management during the construction or renovation period of works projects and to advise on rectifying actions for non-compliance with relevant standards and requirements and provide professional support to follow up the rectifying actions;
(d) To vet the technical documents of works projects and to prepare user specifications for items in the projects;
(e) To monitor the utility status (i.e. electricity, water, fire services system, etc.) of the GFS Headquarters; and
(f) To carry out any other duties as assigned.

Terms of Appointment

The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of two year. He/She is required to work normally from Monday to Friday, or any hours, with a total of 44 hours per week as assigned by this Department. He/She may be required to work irregular hours and overtime, including evening, weekends and public holidays.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$56,445 per month
(a) If the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct, the appointee may be granted a gratuity which, when added together with the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes, equals to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(b) 12 days of annual leave whilst rest days, public holidays, maternity leave or paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(c) Contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
