(1) To handle invitations extended by “national sports associations” (NSAs) and sports organisations to the Principal Officials (POs) of the HKSAR Government and senior officials of the Home Affairs Bureau (HAB);
(2) To maintain liaison with NSAs for collection / updating of information on ceremonial functions and sports events, etc. for preparation of background briefs, draft messages and speeches in relation to (1) above;
(3) To prepare briefs, draft messages and speeches in relation to (1) above as well as other ad-hoc sports functions / events;
(4) To prepare regular and ad-hoc returns in connection with sports matters such as preparing returns in connection to POs’ patronage, briefs for seniors in meeting with overseas delegates and consuls etc.;
(5) To liaise with NSAs or other sporting organisations on matters such as handling of complaints, monitoring the investigation of complaints, collating inputs from concerned parties and drafting replies;
(6) To provide logistical support to the POs and senior officials of HAB on undertaking overseas duty visits to major international sports games / events;
(7) To assist NSAs and sports organisations and coordinate with relevant departments, and provide logistical support, to facilitate the smooth operation of ad-hoc or other major sports events held in Hong Kong; and
(8) To perform any other duties as required.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of about 12 months.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
$58,635 per month
A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. In addition to statutory holidays, 12 days paid annual leave, maternity leave and sickness allowance will be granted to the applicant. Details of which will be confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
General Notes
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
