Terms of Appointment
A new appointee will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, the officer may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Master Pay Scale (MPS) Point 15 (HK$30,165) to MPS Point 33 [Note (1)] (HK$70,090) per month.
General Notes
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview without being subject to further shortlisting. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. How to apply
Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev.3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed application on G.F.340 with a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and copies of the required supporting documents mentioned in Note (6) should reach the Appointments Unit, Correctional Services Department on or before the closing date for application (according to the dates of postmarks for submissions by post). Candidates should state clearly on their application form the subject they apply for, i.e. “ASSISTANT EDUCATION OFFICER (LIBERAL STUDIES)” and should also mark “Application for the post of Assistant Education Officer (Liberal Studies)” on the envelope. If applications are made by post, applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is affixed before posting so as to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application. Underpaid mail items will not be delivered by the Hongkong Post.
Online application can also be made through the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates who apply online should submit the prescribed SIF and copies of the required supporting documents mentioned in Note (6) within one week after closing date for application, i.e. on or before 21 November 2019 by post to the Appointments Unit, Correctional Services Department, and the online application number should be quoted on the envelope and on the required document. Applications submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted.
Applications not made in the prescribed form or which are incomplete, late or without provision of all copies of the required supporting documents will not be considered. Applicants are encouraged to provide their email addresses on the application forms. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about eight to ten weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
