Entry Requirements

(a) Completion of Secondary 5 or equivalent;
(b) Minimum two years’ full-time post-qualification working experience;
(c) Able to read and write Chinese and English; fluent in Cantonese and English; have knowledge in Putonghua; and
(d) Applicants with ushering or relevant experience, or able to work during daytime of weekdays may have an advantage.

(1) Work in irregular hours from Mondays to Sundays including public holidays (Applicants who are able to work during daytime of weekdays may have an advantage);
(2) The working hours depend on the programmes. May need to work till midnight. A minimum of 3 hours per session on an on-call basis; and
(3) Wearing uniforms is a must. 

Duties

To perform ticket inspection, house programmes/pamphlet distribution, ushering, crowd control etc. Details to be arranged by venue management at LCSD's designated venue(s). Need to work under stage music effect and illumination (usually in dim lighting), climb stepped aisles, walk and stand for extended periods of time. Communicate with patrons, guide and direct patrons to their seats and assist in enforcing venue's house regulations.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicants will be appointed on Non-civil Service Contract Terms for 12 months.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$ 57/hour

General Notes

(1) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(7) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed application forms should reach Ko Shan Theatre, 77 Ko Shan Road, Hung Hom, Kowloon on or before the closing date for application with the envelope clearly marked “For application of NCSC Part-time Usher” (The postmark will be referred to for the submission dates of applications by mail). Late, incomplete applications, applications not duly signed or applications submitted by fax or email will not be accepted. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to the enquiry address and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage. Applicants who are not invited for interview in about 12 weeks from the closing date for application may assume their applications unsuccessful.
