Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is looking for a dynamic, experienced, passionate and enthusiastic candidate as Head of Innovation and Technology.
You will lead a team of sector specialists focused on clusters including Biomedical Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Microelectronics, Smart Manufacturing and Smart City. In collaboration with the InvestHK global team and key external stakeholders, you will be responsible for attracting and supporting Innovation and Technology (I&T) companies from overseas and the Mainland to set up and expand their operations in Hong Kong (e.g. Regional Headquarters, R&D and innovation Labs). You and your team will demonstrate to investors the growing business opportunities in the I&T sector that can be seized in and via Hong Kong, and support them throughout their journey. With a strong drive to deliver both results and impact, you will lead your team in Hong Kong, in the Mainland and overseas to achieve performance targets.
You will need to demonstrate:
• a deep understanding and knowledge of the I&T sector globally and Hong Kong’s business environment;
• robust business development and client-centric skills;
• proven leadership and management of high-performing teams; and
• a strong network in the I&T sector.
The position will require some international and Mainland travel.

Duties
(i) To lead the team in developing and maintaining a close business relationship with clients and stakeholders in the I&T sector. To ensure all client communication is conducted in a professional and timely manner. To strive to improve and enhance our deliverable service offering;
(ii) To ensure the sector team achieves its objectives and annual targets. To initiate, develop and deliver a series of marketing initiatives which could include client engagements, events and investment promotion trips. To build and develop relationships with key multipliers and encourage referrals;
(iii) To build and update knowledge of key sub-sectors within I&T. To identify Hong Kong’s unique selling proposition in the key focused sub sectors develop; and disseminate key opportunities and sales messages. To map and proactively engage with strategic aftercare companies in Hong Kong. To raise profile of InvestHK among existing investors in key sub-sectors by participating in and hosting network events;
(iv) To coach, mentor, motivate and support team members; and
(v) To carry out other duties as assigned by the management.
Terms of Appointment
The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for normally 24 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the department and the performance and conduct of the candidate.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
HK$93,710 per month
(a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b) Candidate appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
General Notes
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
