Entry Requirements

(a) (i) Level 3 or equivalent or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or
(a) (ii) Grade E or above in two subjects at Advanced Level in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and Level 3 / Grade C or above in three other subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), (Note 2) or equivalent; and

(b) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent;

Preference may be given to candidates who have the following aptitude / experience:
1) Good writing skills in Chinese and English and fluent in spoken Cantonese and English;
2) Familiar with computer software application including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese input method; and
3) Have working experience in public relations, liaison or administrative work.

(1) “Attained with Distinction” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2)The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(3)‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. 

Duties

(i) To provide administrative support for the daily operation of Southern District Council (SDC) including managing the filing system, answering enquiries on DC matters and providing logistic support for functions/projects;
(ii) To provide logistic support during the meetings of SDC and its Committees/Working Groups as appropriate;
(iii) To assist in vetting and processing of application for Community Involvement Funds;
(iv) To assist in handling and following up the procurement of goods and services;
(v) To assist in content updating and maintenance of SDC Homepage and the Tourism Website of Southern District; and
(vi) To perform any other duties as assigned.

Terms of Appointment

(a)\tSuccessful candidate(s) will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for not more than 12 months;\r\n(b)\tFurther renewal will be subject to satisfactory performance and operational needs;\r\n(c)\tCandidates appointed may be required to work outdoor and outside normal office hours, including Sundays and Public Holidays.\r\n

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$16,475 per month
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. (b) Completed application form, together with a detailed resume and a copy for each of the relevant academic certificates, results of relevant language proficiencies, documentary proof of professional achievements (if any) and reference letters (if any), should reach the address below by post or in person on or before the closing date.
