Entry Requirements

(a) A diploma in procurement or logistics field from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent; (b) A minimum of 5 years' full-time post-qualification working experience in procurement and logistics field, with at least 3 years' relevant experience in the Government or public organisations; (c) A good command of written and spoken Chinese and English and have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (d) Proficiency in computer usage and application of common business software, such as word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software; (e) Supervisory experience is preferable; and (f) Good communication and interpersonal skills.

For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
 

Duties

(a) To provide support in matters relating to contracts for the consideration of relevant Tender Boards; (b) To provide professional advice on tender exercises in accordance with the government procurement procedures; and (c) To perform any other duties as required.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a specified period. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance of the candidate. Total working hours will not exceed 17.5 hours per week. The actual working hours will depend on the operational needs of individual offices. Salary is not paid for meal breaks. Working hours and the number of hours of work in each shift are subject to prevailing operational needs and are not fixed. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period. During the contract period, they will be contacted when their services are required.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$288 per hour
A contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme will be made in accordance with the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485).

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the enquiry address indicated, with specification of their Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card numbers and on-line application numbers, if applicable. Copies of local qualification documents are not required at this stage of application.
