Artisan (Filtration Plant)

A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years and should pass the examination as specified by LCSD on filtration plant operation and knowledge within the period as specified by LCSD before being considered for passage of probation bar and further appointment on the prevailing permanent terms (See Note (iv) under the section “Entry Requirements”). Any officer failing to pass the above-mentioned examination within the period as specified by LCSD may have his/ her service terminated.

Master Pay Scale Point 5 ($17,675 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 8 ($21,340 per month)

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(h) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/ she will be invited to attend the selection interview/ written examination without being subject to further shortlisting. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (i) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Candidates who are invited for selection interview will be required to produce the original copies of the official transcripts/ certificates in support of the academic qualifications and supporting documents of working experience for verification and photocopies for record purpose. The application will not be considered if any candidate fails to produce the original copies of the required documents for verification. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about ten to 12 weeks from the closing date for applications. This period may be longer in exceptional circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received or when there are other complications. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
