(a) To assist the supervisor in the coordination, planning, implementation and evaluation of the support services to be provided by the Language Learning Support Section;
(b) To provide advisory and professional development support services to primary and secondary school heads, English panel heads and teachers in implementing different curriculum and policy initiatives;
(c) To conduct in-house professional development programmes;
(d) To conduct school-based/ territory-wide/ cross-district networking functions for primary and secondary school English panel heads and teachers;
(e) To disseminate good practices in English Language learning and the experience in using the resources effectively in primary and secondary schools;
(f) To undertake research and development projects related to English Language learning and teaching in primary and secondary schools;
(g) To liaise with school heads/ relevant parties of the schools to review the progress in school-based curriculum development; and
(h) To perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 2.5 years.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
$74,515 per month
(a) 18 days annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(c) Other fringe benefits include medical and dental benefits and, where appropriate, housing benefits.
