Summer interns are mainly deployed to –
(1) learn the fundamental concepts and techniques of the forensic scientific work in relation to the Research and Development (R&D) project(s) to be involved;
(2) assist professional officers in conducting R&D project(s) pertaining to physical evidence examination, involving experimental design, data collection and/or analysis;
(3) compile a formal report on the research work conducted in the internship period; and
(4) prepare and deliver an oral presentation/seminar on the research work done in the internship period.
Terms of Appointment
Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week. They are eligible for rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, and sickness days. They are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485).

General Notes
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the below enquiry address.
(h) Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation within four to six weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
