The Emission Inventory and Modeling Section under the Mobile Source Group of the Air Policy Division is working on vehicle emission measurements and modeling. The successful candidate will be required to –
(a) oversee and manage the contractors for conducting studies;
(b) liaise with other governmental bodies, local and overseas contractors and suppliers for collecting information;
(c) check data, collate returns;
(d) deal with financial matter;
(e) procure equipment, their parts, accessories and consumables; and
(f) prepare tender documents and perform other administrative duties.
Other Job-related Requirements: (a) The place of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to work outdoors occasionally. (b) The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs but will not exceed 17.5 hours per week. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period. (c) Successful candidates are normally required to work during office hours on weekdays (i.e. Monday to Friday), and may be required to work during irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
$195 per hour
The candidate is not entitled to any fringe benefit normally applicable to a full time staff under the Employment Ordinance (including but not limit to 14-day paid annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity / paternity leave and sickness allowance, etc.), unless the employment undertaken by the employee for the Government constitutes a “continuous contract”. No gratuity will be granted at the end of the contract period.
