Entry Requirements

Candidates should:

(a) be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ;
(b) be students studying in full-time undergraduate programmes offered by post-secondary institutions ; and
(c) enter their final year of undergraduate programmes after the summer of 2020 and major in Economics.

(a) To assist in compilation of basic materials for economic analysis and research studies ;
(b) To provide research and analytical support for ad hoc issues or projects; and
(c) To assist in the conduct of some sampled surveys and consultation exercises.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed under the summer internship programme on non-civil service contract terms. The employment period will last for about one and a half months from mid July to late August 2020 tentatively. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$10,500 per month

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(a) Students studying in local post-secondary institutions should apply through the Student Affairs Offices / Career Centres of their respective institutions. They are advised to note the deadlines set by the respective institutions. Direct applications from local students are not accepted.
(b) Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should complete the Standard Application Form downloadable from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk/english/admin/appoint/782.html). Completed application forms, together with (i) a copy of the certificate of their student status of their institutions and (ii) copies of academic transcripts of current study and certificates of Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or equivalent, should be sent by post or by e-mail to the enquiry address on or before the closing date (according to the postmark if applicable). Please mark “Application for Summer Intern (Research Assistant)” on the envelope if the application is sent by post. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid. Underpaid mail items will be returned or disposed of by the Hongkong Post.
(c) If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents as requested, their applications will not be considered. Applications not made in the prescribed form or which are incomplete or late will not be considered.
(d) Applicants should provide their e-mail address to facilitate future contact. If candidates do not receive any invitations or notifications within four weeks from the closing date, they may assume that their applications are not successful.
