An Occupational Safety Officer II is mainly deployed on –
(a) undertaking inspection and enforcement work in respect of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance and their subsidiary regulations;
(b) undertaking promotion and publicity work for enhancement of occupational safety; and
(c) undertaking education and training work for enhancement of occupational safety.
Terms of Appointment
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. He/she will be required to satisfactorily complete both classroom and on-the-job training, and to pass two departmental examinations. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Master Pay Scale Point 13 ($28,780 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 28 ($58,635 per month).
General Notes
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(i) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
