Selected candidates may be assigned to perform the following duties:
(a)
(i) To conduct school-based and community-based health promotion projects for the use of nutrition labels for target audience, e.g. students and people with chronic diseases;
(ii) To monitor knowledge, attitude and practice towards antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial use, from the perspective of food safety, among general public and target populations (e.g. food handlers) by surveys, with a view to developing AMR risk communication strategies;
(iii) To formulate health promotion works for creating awareness of the negative health impacts of industrially-produced trans-fatty acids (IP-TFAs) among the trade and the public, and building momentum on IP-TFAs elimination in food;
(iv) To conduct research, provide technical support, promulgate and evaluate food safety publicity information and public health education through various communication platforms and tools (e.g. social media including WeChat, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook);
(v) To review the risk communication contents of Centre for Food Safety website regularly, and renew the contents as appropriate through seeking inputs form corresponding officers;
(vi) To liaise with service vendors on designing and executing promotion campaigns related to AMR, IP-TFAs and nutritional labelling; and
(vii) To perform any other duties assigned by senior officers.
(Remarks: May be required to work in irregular working hours.)
OR
(b)
(i) To handle nutrition-related issues of the Food Consumption Survey for the Younger Population, such as programme planning and formulating the survey design/ methodology, including the enhancement of the Hong Kong Diet System;
(ii) To meet/ brief stakeholders, provide support to publicity and the handling of enquires;
(iii) To conduct staff training and preparing training materials in relation to dietary interviews;
(iv) To oversee the pilot survey and main fieldwork, including monitoring survey interviews on site (i.e. where the survey interview is conducted at any offices of FEHD, schools and premises of survey respondents during and/ or after office hours);
(v) To verify, analyze and interpret dietary data; and to assist in report writing; and
(vi) To perform any other duties assigned by senior officers.
(Remarks: May be required to work in irregular working hours and work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.)
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period not more than 12 months. Further employment may be offered at the absolute discretion of the Department, subject to operational need of the Department and satisfactory performance and conduct of the staff.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
HK$46,310 per month
Rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
Gratuity (only applicable to appointee with contract of 12 months): A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
