(a) to perform general clerical duties, such as general administration and logistic support, office accommodation, personnel, accounting and information technology;
(b) to process applications including vetting, data entry and following up with the progress of applications;
(c) to perform customer service duties, such as manning counter and handling public enquiries;
(d) to prepare and compile statistical reports and tables for analysis;
(e) to provide general clerical support, such as data entry, filing, photocopying, printing and mailing letters; and
(f) to undertake any other duties as assigned.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a maximum period of 12 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to operational needs of the Department as well as conduct and performance of the candidate.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
HK$ 13,500 per month
Rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, paid annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sick leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the contract and the Employment Ordinance.
General Notes
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and diplomas/certificates together with the application form by post to the above address.

Application forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centre of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).
Completed application form together with copies of academic certificates/results and employment supporting documents, should be sent by post to the Trade and Industry Department at the above address on or before the closing date with the envelope clearly marked “Application for General Clerk”. The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. Applications which are incomplete, without the required copies of academic certificates and supporting documents, late, or submitted by fax/email/in person will not be considered.
To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of mail items, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Department and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate.
