Entry Requirements

Applicants should have (a) at least 20 years of experience in canine obedience training industry; (b) knowledge of different dog breeds and their behaviour; (c) past experience in working with Animal Welfare Organisations in assessing dog behaviour, and providing dog obedience training lessons; (d) past experience in delivering and instructing dog obedience seminars and training to members of the public; (e) legal knowledge on the interpretation and classification of dangerous dogs under Cap. 167D (Dangerous Dogs Regulation); (f) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and (g) good communication and interpersonal skills, preferably with language proficiency also in Putonghua.

A Dog Training Officer (Part-time) is mainly deployed on (a) assessing animals in order to determine their temperament, abilities, and aptitude for training; (b) developing and implementing behavioural modification training and obedience training for dogs in the Animal Management Centres with an aim to rehoming these dogs; (c) continuing to follow up on individual dogs which need further obedience training and assessments and (d) keeping records documenting the above training and assessment.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on 1 year non-civil service contract terms.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$439 per hour
Rest days, public holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
