Entry Requirements

(a) (i) Level 2 or equivalent (Note 1) or above in five subjects including Mathematics in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or (ii) Level 2 (Note 3)/Grade E or above in five subjects including Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent;
(b) Language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 3) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; and
(c) Chinese word processing speed of 20 words per minute and English word processing speed of 30 words per minute and knowledge in the application of common business software (Note 4).

(1) For appointment purpose, “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2) The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(3) For appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(4) Candidates who are selected to attend the Chinese and English word processing speed test and the test on the application of common business software (including Microsoft Word and Excel) will normally receive an invitation by 28 August 2020. Those who are not invited for the above tests may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
 

Duties

(a) Clerical duties relating to registration of deeds, land searches, customer services, reports on titles, registration of owners' corporations, etc.;
(b) Assisting in manning counters;
(c) Handling public enquiries/attending hotlines; and
(d) Providing general office administration support (including word-processing, photocopying, filing, delivering files, receiving and dispatching documents, collecting and transferring bins of deeds, performing outdoor duties, etc.).

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$13,145 per month
A gratuity will be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The gratuity, plus any contribution by the Government towards a mandatory provident fund as required by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, will equal 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. An annual leave of 12 days per year of service will be offered.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
