Entry Requirements

(a) Minimum three years of full-time work experience, preferably gained in business development, account management, or investment/trade promotion;
(b) A Bachelor degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in business administration, finance, economics, international marketing or communications;
(c) Knowledge of and experience in I&T, such as AI, Robotics, ICT, Smart City, BioTech or ICT is an advantage;
(d) Level 3 Note or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
(e) Fluency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua is a must; and
(f) Proficient in English and Chinese word processing, and in the applications of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

For appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
 

Duties

Hong Kong is fast-emerging as a leading, global Innovation & Technology hub. We are looking for a motivated and energetic person to join our dynamic Innovation and Technology (I&T) team. Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues in Hong Kong and our Mainland teams, you will play a proactive role to attract technology companies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) to set up in Hong Kong and to promote the city as an innovation and technology hub. The work will be diverse and fast-moving and you will work with different team heads to deliver outcomes including diversified marketing events and visit programmes, desktop research and building a stakeholders’ database.

(i) To implement the promotion plan and organize investment promotion activities including but not limited to webinars, meetings, exhibitions, seminars and talks in Hong Kong & GBA;
(ii) To acquire, refine and maintain stakeholders’ database;
(iii) To work with Heads of I&T in following up on the links and networks in Hong Kong and GBA;
(iv) To acquire market intelligence and undertake desktop study and research on the I&T sectors, such as Smart City, AI, Big Data, Robotics, BioTech and ICT, etc.; and
(v) To work with I&T team in receiving delegations/CEOs from GBA and help implement visit programmes for Mainland/GBA visitors.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$46,655 per month
(a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b) Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(a) Applicants must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(e) Where a large number of applicants meet the specified entry requirements, the recruiting department may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified applicants for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled applicant meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by e-mail.
