Summer Intern

Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of around 6 weeks, starting from July 2020. Candidates appointed are normally required to work 44 hours per week. Overtime work, where necessary, will be compensated by time-off in lieu.

HK$10,500 per month

Except otherwise provided in the appointment letter, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), general holidays, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend selection interview/written examination.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by e-mail to below enquiry e-mail address.

Applications must be made in the standard application form available at CSB's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk/english/admin/appoint/782.html). Apart from the completed application form, applicants must submit the following items directly to the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department by email (email title: Application for Summer Intern of Food and Environmental Hygiene Department) to eycng@fehd.gov.hk on or before the closing date of application:

(i) a letter of application setting out in detail why the applicant considers himself/herself suitable for the position;
(ii) a full curriculum vitae (CV);
(iii) copy of academic qualification certificates; and
(iv) copy of employment record (if applicable).

Applications not using the prescribed application form for the summer internship programme, or submitted without any one of the required supporting documents, or late submission, will not be processed.

As invitations or notifications will be sent to applicants by email, candidates should provide an accurate email address in their application. Candidates are responsible for checking their emails to ensure that invitation(s) or notification(s) could be duly received.

Candidates will be invited for selection interviews within three weeks from the closing date of application. Those who are not invited for selection interview may assume their applications unsuccessful.
