Entry Requirements

Applicants should:-
(a) be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
(b) be undergraduate students currently enrolled in full-time Bachelor degree courses majoring in Government/ Public Administration, Social/ Public Policy and related subject(s) of local / non-local post-secondary institutions; not be studying or have just completed the final year of study before the internship period commences; preferably have completed the second year / third year of study;
(c) have obtained (i) Level 3 or above in both Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or (ii) Level 3/ Grade C or above in both Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [Note (1)], or equivalent;
(d) be proficient in Chinese typing and computer applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, etc.;
(e) have a good command of written Chinese and English, and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English; and
(f) have good organisation and communication skills, with sense of responsibility and positive thinking.

(1) For appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.

The intern will be required to carry out the following tasks:-
(a) To assist in processing applications of Subsidy Schemes under Anti-epidemic Fund and handling licensing related enquiries;
(b) To assist in handling general administrative matters, including office accommodation, information technology management, building management, compilation of reports, etc; and
(c) To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be engaged under non-civil service appointment terms. The period of employment is in August 2020 for about 1 month. Interns are normally required to work 44 hours per week and may also be required to work outside normal office hours, during weekends or public holidays. Overtime work, where necessary, will be compensated by time-off in lieu.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$10,500 per month
Except otherwise provided in the appointment letter, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), general holidays, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Completed application forms must be accompanied by a copy of HKDSEE / HKCEE certificate and an essay of around 300 words in Chinese or English on the reasons of applying for this position and what he/she could contribute.

Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions should apply through the Student Affairs Offices / Career Centres of their respective institutions. They are advised to note the deadlines set by the respective institutions. Direct applications from local students will not be considered.

Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should complete the application form, together with other required documents and send to the enquiry address below on or before the closing date for application (The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application).
