Duties

(a) To assist in visitor management of venues such as crowd control in reception/ waiting areas and other area in culture venues;
(b) To perform patrol to ensure visitors/users’ compliance with the venue rules;
(c) To advise visitors/users to be mindful of proper health measures and social distancing;
(d) To perform body temperature check on visitors/users; and
(e) To assist venue management in other general duties (including back-end support and outdoor duties, as well as assisting in handling of library materials including sanitising of books if working at public libraries).

Working Hours
45 hours per week (excluding meal breaks). Appointees may be required to perform shifts duties, work irregular hours and overtime (including on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays). Outdoor work may be required. Actual working hours will be arranged by supervisors.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicants will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$11,505 per month
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(A) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to further shortlisting. (G) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the enquiry address.

(1) Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk).
(2) Completed application forms should reach the enquiry address on or before the closing date (The postmark will be referred to for the submission date of the application by mail). Please specify on the envelope “Application for the position of Cultural Venue Helper”. Applications which are incomplete, late, not duly signed, submitted by fax / e-mail, or not made in the prescribed form will not be accepted. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to the enquiry address and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage.
(3) Applicants who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation within 8 to 10 weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. Information on unsuccessful applicants will normally be destroyed 24 months after rejection of the applicants’ applications.
