Entry Requirements

Applicants should-
(i) be students studying full-time programmes offered by post-secondary institutions;
(ii) have completed the first year of a bachelor degree with major in Accountancy / Finance for students studying a two-year programme or have completed the second year of a bachelor degree with major in Accountancy / Finance for students studying a programme of more than two years;
(iii) not be studying in or have just completed their final year of study before the internship period commences;
(iv) have good command of Chinese and English;
(v) be proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; and
(vi) preferably with accounting-related working experience.

Summer intern is mainly deployed –
(a) to assist in the daily operations, reconciliation and compilation of statistics of departmental revenue collection;
(b) to assist in contract administration and administrative support duties.

Terms of Appointment

Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. Employment period is from June to August 2022 (about 3 months). They are normally required to work 44 hours per week. They are eligible for rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, and sickness days. They are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

How to apply

(a) Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions should apply through the Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of their respective institutions. They are advised to note the deadlines set by the respective institutions. Direct applications from local students will not be considered.
(b) Students studying in non-local institutions should download application forms from Treasury Website (http://www.try.gov.hk). Completed application form, together with copies of certificates of their student status and academic transcripts should be forwarded by post (The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application.) to the enquiry address below on or before the closing date for application. Please mark “Application for Summer Intern (Planning and Development Division)” on the envelope. Applicants who do not possess the entry requirements, applications which are late, incomplete or without the required supporting documents and applications submitted by fax or e-mail will NOT be considered. All eligible applicants MUST attend a selection interview in May 2022. NO alternative arrangements will be made for those who fail to attend the interview and their applications will NOT be further processed.

Applicants who have not received a reply from the Treasury by Mid-June 2022 may assume their applications are unsuccessful.
