A Speech Therapist is mainly deployed on –
(a) providing assessment, support and therapy to children with speech, language and communication disorders, and coordinating for the rehabilitation of clients;
(b) taking charge of a speech therapy service unit and performing related administrative duties;
(c) assisting in the planning of speech therapy service in the health service setting including the development of assessment tools;
(d) giving talks and lectures on speech therapy, conducting related health promotion and professional education programmes; and
(e) participating in research, health education and other relevant projects.
Terms of Appointment
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he / she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Master Pay Scale Point 16 ($33,350 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 33 ($73,775 per month).
General Notes

(j) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions / Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. The application period for the post of Speech Therapist is from 29 April 2022 (Friday) to 12 May 2022 (Thursday).
