Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent [See Notes (ii) - (iii)];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent [See Notes (iv) - (vii)]; and
(d) At least four years’ post-degree experience in education [See Note (viii)].

(i) The application period for the post of Assistant Project Officer is from 6 May 2022 (Friday) to 20 May 2022 (Friday).
(ii) Candidates should state clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a higher degree in a relevant subject) should include details in their applications.
(iii) For general awareness, a locally-accredited Hong Kong bachelor's degree is at Level 5 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF). While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 5, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only bachelor's degree is acceptable. (iv) Results in the Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE) papers of CRE are classified as 'Level 2', 'Level 1' or 'Fail', with 'Level 2' being the highest.
(v) 'Level 5' or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE); or Grade 'C' or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) are accepted as equivalent to 'Level 2' in the UC paper of the CRE.
(vi) 'Level 5' or above in English Language of the HKDSEE; or Grade 'C' or above in Use of English of the HKALE; or Grade 'C' or above in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level), are accepted as equivalent to 'Level 2' in the UE paper of the CRE.
(vii) An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test result is accepted as equivalent to 'Level 2' in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period.
(viii) Candidates should state the nature and relevancy of the post-degree experience.
 

Duties

(a) To assist in reviewing and consolidating the assessment mechanism and criteria of Quality Education Fund (QEF) applications;
(b) To co-ordinate the curriculum development and student support aspects of QEF applications;
(c) To process QEF applications and monitor the progress of approved projects;
(d) To conduct on-site visits, and evaluate completed projects and deliverables;
(e) To assist in publicity activities, and provide advisory service on QEF applications;
(f) To provide secretarial support in meetings; and (g) To perform any other duties as required.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms up for 1 year.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$46,655 per month
(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave/paternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
