A Survey Officer (Land) is mainly deployed on –
(a) carrying out surveying tasks including field surveying, computing, data processing and plotting;
(b) undertaking Land Information System related data input and updating work;
(c) undertaking Common Spatial Data Infrastructure related data collection, input, updating and analysing work; and
(d) checking plans and spatial data.
(Note: May be posted to other government departments, required to work irregular hours, work in any part of Hong Kong and work outdoor in heavy traffic, hilly and remote areas, and in inclement weather conditions.)
Terms of Appointment
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Master Pay Scale Point 9 (HK$22,725 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 22 (HK$44,555 per month)
General Notes
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(i) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the contact address.

(a) Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).
(b) Completed application forms, together with photocopies of certificates and transcripts in support of academic qualifications and proof of working experience, should reach the contact address stated below on or before the closing date for applications with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the post of Survey Officer (Land)”.
(c) Online application can be made through the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates who apply online should submit copies of their certificates and transcripts in support of academic qualifications and proof of working experience with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the post of Survey Officer (Land)” within one week after the closing date for applications to the contact address stated below. The online application number should be quoted on the envelope and on every page of the copies of supporting documents.
(d) Applications which are incomplete, late or submitted by fax or e-mail, not duly signed or not made in the prescribed form [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] will NOT be considered. If the required supporting documents are not provided, insufficient or are submitted after the above specified dates, such applications may NOT be considered.
(e) If the application is submitted by post, the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission of the application form and copies of the supporting documents. (f) Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about 10 to 12 weeks from the closing date for application. This period may be longer in exceptional circumstances when a large number of applications are received or when there are other complications. Invitations may be issued by email. Applicants are encouraged to provide their personal Internet e-mail addresses on their application forms. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
