Entry Requirements

(a) At least three years of relevant full-time work experience in Mainland business development, event management or stakeholder engagement with Mainland counterparts;
(b) A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(c) Meet the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent (see Notes (a) to (c)); and
(d) Have a strong command of Putonghua.

(a) Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of Chinese (UC) paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of English (UE) paper of the CRE.
(b) Grade C or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE.
(c) An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period.

Invest Hong Kong is looking for a confident, experienced and enthusiastic applicant to join our Mainland Business Development Team as Manager.

Working with our teams in key Mainland cities, the Mainland Business Development Team is dedicated to attracting Mainland investors to set up and expand their business in Hong Kong. Your key role is to assist the team in implementing strategies and promotional plans for the Mainland market, through organising investment promotion activities in Hong Kong and the Mainland as well as establishing close relationship with related Government authorities and organisations.

You will need to demonstrate:
• proven experience in Mainland business development and in liaising with Mainland counterparts;
• sound track record in event management and the use of virtual event platforms;
• good communication skills in Cantonese, English and Putonghua;
• proficiency in Chinese and English writing; and
• a proactive attitude with strong work ethics.

Duties
(i) To plan and organise online and offline Mainland-related investment promotion activities with related Government authorities, organisations and other stakeholders in Hong Kong and the Mainland;
(ii) To liaise closely with Invest Hong Kong’s Mainland and local teams in coordinating investment promotion activities held in the Mainland and Hong Kong;
(iii) To provide support in video production and event promotion in social media and to perform post-event data analysis and follow-up for investment promotion activities;
(iv) To support the team in providing aftercare services to the Mainland companies in Hong Kong;
(v) To receive delegations from the Mainland and arrange visit programmes for Mainland companies in Hong Kong;
(vi) To maintain proper records of the aforementioned activities via various means including Customer Relationship Management system, emails and file records;
(vii) To provide research support to facilitate the team in drawing up strategies and action plans for the Mainland market; and
(viii) To perform other ad hoc duties as required.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for normally 24 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the department and the performance and conduct of the applicant.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$46,655 per month
(a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b) Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.

(a) Applicants must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled applicant meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/ written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
