Entry Requirements

(a) Minimum five years of full-time work experience in account management, business development, marketing and project management in relevant fields, such as AI, big data, computer science, information technology or related fields;
(b) A Hong Kong Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, preferably in computer sciences, computer engineering, information technology, data science or related subjects;
(c) Strong network in the AI and big data sectors and exposure to international operations and investment environment is preferable;
(d) Knowledge and good understanding of Hong Kong’s business environment, knowledge of and experience in investment promotion, marketing communications or economic development would be an advantage; and
(e) Excellent communication skills with fluency in English, Putonghua and Cantonese. Excellent command of written English and Chinese is required. Proficiency in another language such as Japanese, French or German would be an advantage.

Duties

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is the department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government tasked to attract and retain foreign direct investments in Hong Kong. Its dedicated Innovation and Technology (I&T) team promotes Hong Kong as one of the fastest growing I&T ecosystems, and attracts and facilitates I&T companies to set up and expand in the city.

We are looking for a motivated and energetic person to join our dynamic I&T team as Senior Manager with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and big data. You will play a crucial role in implementing our business development plan to reach out and attract overseas and Mainland companies in the I&T sector, with a focus on the AI and big data sectors to establish or expand their operations in Hong Kong. You are required to demonstrate strong industrial knowledge and experience in related fields.

As one of the top global financial centres and a business capital in Asia, Hong Kong acts as a launch pad both for I&T companies eyeing regional opportunities in Asia and also for Mainland I&T enterprises seeking international expansion. Duties
(i) To provide business support services with a focus on AI and big data sectors;
(ii) To engage with and assist overseas, Mainland and Taiwan companies in setting up/ expanding businesses in Hong Kong and to provide aftercare services;
(iii) To work with InvestHK’s overseas network, relevant government bureaux and departments, and other public organisations including Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, Cyberport, universities and research institutions and relevant industrial organisations to coordinate investment promotion and marketing activities to attract and retain companies in the I&T sector with a focus on AI and big data companies from overseas and from the Mainland; and
(iv) To prepare sales messages, presentations, marketing materials and undertake research initiatives mainly in AI and big data related sub-sectors.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for normally 24 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the department and the performance and conduct of the applicant.\r\n

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$61,415 per month
(a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b) Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(a) Applicants must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
