Entry Requirements for Senior Manager (Carbon Neutrality) for LCI Cluster

(a) A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in science, engineering, business, social science and arts. Studies in environmental science and management, sustainability or carbon neutrality subjects would be an advantage;
(b) A minimum of five years of full-time work experience in account management, business development, consultancy, project management, and/or sales and marketing gained in either food, consumer products, or lifestyle and creative industries. Prior experience in the last three years in one or more of the following industries: foodtech, agri-tech, food waste reduction, green packaging, sustainable fashion or sourcing, circularity, sustainable architecture and design industries, or working on carbon neutrality projects within an organisation;
(c) Extensive business network in one or more of the following industries: sustainability, foodtech, consumer products, sustainable architecture and design; and
(d) A strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in another language would be an advantage.

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is looking for three passionate applicants to drive foreign direct investment opportunities arising from carbon neutrality commitments in Hong Kong and Asia more generally. The three roles will work in each of InvestHK’s three cluster teams: Fintech, Financial and Professional Services (FFPS), Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE), and Lifestyle and Creative Industries (LCI) as Senior Manager (Carbon Neutrality).

Working with our global network, you will be responsible to help promote Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050, attract and support overseas and Mainland companies that possess leading-edge capabilities, technologies and solutions in realising carbon neutrality opportunities to set up and/or expand their operations in and via Hong Kong.

You will need to demonstrate:
• extensive knowledge in carbon neutrality across the relevant cluster;
• proven experience in working effectively with stakeholders in the carbon neutrality community such as innovative entrepreneurs, startups, corporates, investor groups, regulators, technology parks, universities, research institutions, industrial organisations, chambers and industrial associations, etc.;
• a track record in generating leads with strong marketing and business development skills;
• proven ability to work effectively wihin small interdisciplinary teams;
• excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and public speaking skills; and
• a good understanding of Hong Kong’s business environment. Familiarity of the business opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay area and across Asia would be an advantage.

Duties
(i) To develop and implement strategies and plans to attract overseas and Mainland companies to set up and/or expand their operations in and via Hong Kong;
(ii) To achieve performance targets and provide services to help overseas and Mainland companies set up in the city and conduct aftercare with those already having a presence here;
(iii) To develop and execute investment promotion and marketing activities through collaboration with different ecosystem stakeholders;
(iv) To keep abreast of carbon neutrality related domain knowledge and market development, and develop focused sales messages, presentations, and marketing materials;
(v) To represent InvestHK, speak at events and conduct interviews; and
(vi) To perform related administrative tasks and other ad hoc duties as requested.

The position may require some international and Mainland travel.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for normally 24 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the department and the performance and conduct of the applicant.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$61,415 per month
(a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b) Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
