Entry Requirements

(a)(i) Advanced Diploma from the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, or equivalent (see Note 2); OR
(ii) Diploma from the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, or equivalent, with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a position of production or stage manager in a major performing arts venue or company;
(b)(i) Level 2 or equivalent (see Note 3) or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent; OR;
(ii) Level 2 (see Note 4) / Grade E or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
(c)Good interpersonal and supervisory skills;
(d)Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua will be an advantage; and
(e)Good general computer skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD will be an advantage.
Remarks
(1) Applications which did not provide all information as requested or which are not clear that the candidates have met the entry requirements may not be considered.
(2)Applicants without the requisite academic qualification stated in entry requirement (a)(i), but who are undergoing further studies with a view to obtaining the requisite qualification in the 2019/20 academic year may also apply; if selected, appointment will be subject to their obtaining the requisite academic qualification within the 2019/20 academic year.
(3)For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(4)For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(5) The position is open to both male and female applicants
 

Duties

To work on shifts as duty stage manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of stage services; to supervise stage artisans and junior staff during fit-up, rehearsals and performances; to liaise with venue users to resolve technical problems.

Note: Appointees are required to work shifts, irregular hours and overnight; work on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays; and perform outdoor, typhoon and rainstorm duties.

Terms of Appointment

Successful applicants will be appointed on Non-civil Service Contract Terms for 24 months.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$ 22,735 per month
A gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to an Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(a)Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g)Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
