Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Psychology, or equivalent;
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note 1];
(c) A Hong Kong master's degree in Educational Psychology (Professional Practice), or equivalent;
(d) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [See Note 2] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and
(e) A minimum of 6 years' relevant working experience after obtaining (a) above of which at least 3 years as an Educational Psychologist in an educational setting after obtaining (c) [See Note 3].

[Remarks: Qualified candidates are required to attend a written test and only those who have passed the written test will be invited for an interview.]
Remarks
1. Applicants without a certificate in education may also apply. If selected, he/she will be appointed at a sub-entry point, i.e. starting at $40,500 per month for an applicant without a certificate in education, with 1 salary point awarded for each year of EP experience.
2. For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
3. Applicants with less than 6 years' relevant working experience by the closing date may also apply. If selected, their salary will be paid at sub-entry points as determined individually by the Education Bureau.
4. Applicants should have obtained full membership of the Division of Educational Psychology of the Hong Kong Psychological Society or an equivalent status in an internationally recognized professional organization of Educational Psychology.
 

Duties

(a) To provide professional support and monitor the delivery of the coaching programmes for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD);
(b) To provide educational psychology service for ordinary schools at the student, teacher and systems levels viz rendering psycho-educational assessments for students with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, supporting school personnel and parents on the devise of intervention programmes for students with special educational needs, delivering professional training for teachers, and helping schools in crisis management, etc;
(c) To conduct school-based, district-based or territory-wide training and sharing activities; and
(d) Any other duties as assigned by the Section Head.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms up to 31 August 2020.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$62,690 per month
14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
