Salary History

Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent;
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note];
(d) At least 3 years' post-degree full time relevant experience;
(e) Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(f) Proficient in computer knowledge and skills, such as word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation software and Chinese input method.
Remarks
For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
 

Duties

(a) To assist to implement recommendations by committees working on matters related to the professional development of teachers (e.g. Council on Professional Conduct in Education, Committee on Respect Our Teachers Campaign etc.), including liaising with stakeholders, arranging meetings, working out implementation details, drafting relevant guidelines and executing the decisions etc.;
(b) To assist to prepare background briefs, progress reports, discussion papers, press releases, and replies to enquiries from the public and other public organisations on related decisions;
(c) To plan and assist in teachers exchange programs; and
(d) To perform any other duties as assigned.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$38,595 per month
(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
