Salary History

Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent;
(b) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [Note (ii)];
(c) At least 6 years' post-degree experience in administration work, of which at least 4 years should be in project management;
(d) Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese;
(e) Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills;
(f) Good computer skills and sound knowledge of application software, including Chinese and English word processing;
(g) Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure;
(h) Working experience in government departments / educational organisations, good knowledge of Government Accounting System, Stores and Procurement Regulations and filing system preferred; and
(i) Applicants will be required to attend an interview and a written test.
Remarks
For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
 

Duties

(a) To provide administrative support for the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) projects [See Remarks] on supporting non-Chinese speakers (NCS) in learning Chinese;
(b) To perform budgetary control and financial management for the projects;
(c) To monitor the progress of the projects;
(d) To examine the progress and financial reports submitted by the participating organisations;
(e) To prepare committee papers and organise meetings;
(f) To assist in further enhancement and dissemination of learning and teaching materials;
(g) To supervise and co-ordinate the work of clerical staff; and
(h) To perform any other duties as and when required by the supervisors

[Remarks : The Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) was established in 1996 to advise Government on language education issues in general as well as on the use of the Language Fund.]

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 2 years.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$53,303 per month
(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays, maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
