Entry Requirements
Candidates should have –
(a) a Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent [See Note (a)];
(b) a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) three years' relevant post-degree experience [General Note (2)]; and
(d) met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [See Notes (b)-(d)].
Candidates should be responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic; have a fine character and integrity; be committed to serve in the education field; and be able to communicate effectively in Chinese and English.
For candidates holding qualifications obtained from academic institutions outside Hong Kong, please attach to their application copies of diplomas/certificates, transcripts of studies and official documents issued by the relevant academic institutions stating the mode of delivery (e.g. full time/part time, on campus/distance learning, etc.) of the study programmes. Assistant Education Officers (Administration) are mainly deployed on the following types of duties –
(a) assisting in conducting educational researches, reviews and planning; and
(b) assisting in the implementation of education policies by –
(i) providing support to schools on administration and conducting advisory visits and school inspections;
(ii) managing school building and improvement projects;
(iii) processing school registration applications;
(iv) processing registration, training and development of teachers/educational professionals;
(v) allocating school places; and
(vi) developing and maintaining educational information systems.
Terms of Appointment
A new recruit will be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms [General Notes (3) to (5)].

General Notes
(1) The information on the maximum pay point is for reference only and it may be subject to changes.
(2) Candidates should state clearly on the application form the nature of work and duties of each position held when completing the part of \"Full Employment Record\".
(3) Civil service vacancies are posts on the civil service establishment. Candidates selected for these vacancies will be appointed on civil service terms of appointment and conditions of service and will become civil servants on appointment.
(4) The entry pay, terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made.
(5) Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical and dental benefits, and where appropriate, assistance in housing.
(6) If a new recruit progresses onto new permanent terms upon satisfactory completion of the probationary/agreement period, he/she will be eligible to join the Civil Service Provident Fund (CSPF) Scheme. The Government's contributions under the CSPF Scheme, including mandatory and voluntary contributions, follow a progressive contribution rates schedule ranging from 5% to 25% of the basic salary of an eligible officer at his/her substantive rank, depending on his/her completed years of continuous service on civil service terms. In general, the above-mentioned Government's contribution rate is 15% at the time when an eligible officer who has completed three years of continuous service progresses onto new permanent terms and joins the CSPF Scheme. (7) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

Application Forms [G.F.340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centre of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).
Completed application forms should reach the enquiry address provided below on or before 6 March 2020. For application by post, the date of the postmark should not be after 6 March 2020. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Bureau and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Candidates will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage. II. On-line Application

Candidates holding local qualifications are NOT required to submit copies of supporting documents at the application stage.
Applications which are not made in the prescribed form [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)], or submitted by fax or e-mail, or applications which are late, or without sufficient supporting documents, will NOT be considered.
Qualified candidates are required to attend an Assistant Education Officer (Administration) Recruitment Examination. Only those who passed the written examination will be invited for interview (to be held tentatively in July/August 2020). Candidates who are invited to sit for the Assistant Education Officer (Administration) Recruitment Examination will receive an invitation by post/email by mid-May 2020. Please ensure the mailing/ email address is properly provided. The Recruitment Examination is tentatively scheduled for late May 2020. As it takes time to verify candidates' qualifications, an invitation to the Recruitment Examination does not imply that their qualifications meet the entry requirements of the Assistant Education Officer (Administration) posts. Those who are not invited to sit for the Assistant Education Officer (Administration) Recruitment Examination may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
