Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent [See Note (i)]; preferably in Early Childhood Education, Psychology or Education;
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary education institution, or equivalent;
(c) At least 10 years of working experience in school inspection / teaching / educational administration in the early childhood education sector and/or teaching experience in tertiary institutions in early childhood education;
(d) At least 5 years of working experience in managerial and/or supervisory position;
(e) Candidates who are not serving in the education sector from 1 September 2020 onwards;
(f) Preference will be given to candidates who have different exposures in early childhood education sector;
(g) Preference will be given to candidates who possess higher degrees in early childhood education;
(h) Be able to communicate effectively in Chinese;
(i) Be responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic; and
(j) Have a fine character and integrity.
Remarks
(i) For general awareness, a locally-accredited Hong Kong bachelor's degree is at Level 5 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF). While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 5, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only bachelor's degree is acceptable. (ii) Depending on the operational needs, the actual working hour pattern will be arranged by the Section.
 

Duties

(a) To attend the briefing session for External Observer (Kindergarten);
(b) To participate in the whole Quality Review (QR) process (ranging from 2.5-day to 3.5-day per QR), observe the school performance on the domain of learning and teaching in respect of the following: (i) conduct observation on children's activities with the Review Team; (ii) read curriculum documents and the School Report; (iii) attend the interviews with children conducted by the Review Team as observer; (iv) attend the Review Team meeting(s) held at the school as observer; (v) share their experience on teachers' teaching skills and the set-up of the learning environment with the school after the oral feedback session conducted by the Review Team;
(c) To provide feedback on the QR mechanism; and
(d) To have professional dialogues with the Review Team of the Education Bureau.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms per Quality Review basis.

$7,682.5 per 2.5-day Quality Review or $10,755.5 per 3.5-day Quality Review
