Entry Requirements

Applicants should:
(1) Completed Secondary 4, or equivalent;
(2) Attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Secondary 4 standard; and
(3) Be capable of operating computer and familiar with common software like Microsoft Word and Excel.

Duties

(1) To sort letters, parcels and mail items and to perform simple coding of parcels;
(2) To perform stock-taking, distribution, despatching and bundling of letters, parcels and mails;
(3) To operate the Mechanized Letter Sorting System / postal computerized system;
(4) To perform general clerical and supporting duties, including data input, file recording, etc.;
(5) To assist to deal with warehouse work; and
(6) To undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Notes:
(a) Work location: Tuen Mun.
(b) Working Time: Monday to Friday, from 08:30 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. / from 08:30 a.m. to 18:15 p.m.
(c) Working hours are 48 hours gross per week (including one-hour meal break per day).
(d) The working location and time may vary according to the operational needs of the Department. Selected candidates are required to work shifts, in irregular hours and / or overtime. They may also be required to be on duty on Sundays and / or public holidays on certain occasions, depending on the operational needs.

Terms of Appointment

(1) The successful candidate(s) will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for twelve months. Subject to operational needs, employees with good performance may have the opportunity for contract renewal after completion of the first contract. \r\n(2) For monthly-rated employees, 10% contract-end gratuity will be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract (inclusive of Hongkong Post's MPF contributions).

General Notes

(a) Candidates appointed must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) The selection interview will be held as scheduled when No. 3 Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal or lower, and / or the \"Amber\" or \"Red\" Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued. If No.8 or higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal, and / or \"Black\" Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted at 7am on the day of interview, or an announcement is made that such warning signal(s) will be hoisted in the coming two hours, interviews scheduled before 1pm will be cancelled. If No.8 or higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal, and / or \"Black\" Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted at 12 noon on the day of interview, or announcement is made that such warning signals will be hoisted in the coming two hours, interviews scheduled after 1pm will be cancelled. The Department will inform applicants of the rescheduling of interviews.
