Entry Requirements

Candidates should –

(a) be final year students pursuing a full-time Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline;

(b) have knowledge in HTML5, Javascript, and Node.js;

(c) be able to work independently with good analytical and problem solving skills; and

(d) have good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (with Level 3 or above in both Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or equivalent)
Remarks
Grade C in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
 

Duties

(a) to participate in development and training of chatbot powered by AI;

(b) to provide technical support on enhancing and maintaining the website of the Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme; and

(c) to provide daily technical support services including office automation, troubleshooting, helpdesk, etc.

Background:
The Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS) is a policy initiative implemented by the Food and Health Bureau (FHB) in respect of individual indemnity hospital insurance products. The scheme is based on voluntary participation by insurers and consumers. Under the scheme, the participating insurers will offer individual indemnity hospital insurance plans that are certified by FHB to be compliant with the scheme requirements. It is voluntary for consumers to purchase the plans.

The VHIS Office is a regular office set up under the FHB to implement the VHIS. Its duties include registration of the participating insurers, vetting of individual indemnity hospital insurance plans for certification of compliance status, enforcement of scheme regulations, undertaking of publicity and consumer education programs, monitoring of scheme performance, information dissemination and compilation of statistics, as well as handling of enquiries and complaints, etc.

Terms of Appointment

The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms from 20 July to 28 August 2020 in the VHIS Office under the Food and Health Bureau.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$10,500 per month
Rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, sickness days, where appropriate will be granted to successful candidates in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(c) If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents as requested, their applications will not be considered. Applications not made in the prescribed form or which are incomplete or late will not be considered.

(d) To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will be returned to the senders or disposed of by the Hongkong Post. Applications returned to the sender due to insufficient postage must be resubmitted on or before the closing date and time.
