Salary History

Entry Requirements

1. Applicants must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and current students of a full-time undergraduate programme in a tertiary education institution in Hong Kong or overseas.
2. Applicants should currently be a full-time Year 2 student under 3-year curriculum, or a full-time Year 3 student under 4-year curriculum, or a full-time Year 4 student under 5-year curriculum, with their major field of study in one of the following subjects: - History, Anthropology, Geography, Museum Studies, Culture and Heritage Management or equivalent.
3. Applicants should possess Good command of English and Chinese and Good computer literacy. Experience in research work is preferable.
Remarks
1. Late or incomplete applications, or applications submitted by fax will NOT be considered.
2. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation within four weeks from the closing date for application. Interview will be held in late June or early July 2020. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
3. No alternative arrangements will be made for those who failed to attend the interview and their applications will NOT be further processed.

Duties

1. To assist in organising and running of educational and extension programmes;
2. To assist in the preparation of donation proposals, research and exhibition texts; and
3. To assist in the archival management of research materials.

Terms of Appointment

Summer student interns are employed on non-civil service contract terms for around 1.5 months from July to August 2020 (depending on office exigencies, the actual employment period for different cases may vary). Summer interns are normally required to work 44 hours per week and may also be required to work outside normal office hours, during weekends or public holidays. Overtime work, where necessary, will be compensated by time-off in lieu.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$10,500 per month
Summer interns are eligible for rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays and sickness days. They are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

How to apply

1. Local applicants
All local applications (including those from students of local tertiary institutions who are currently participating in exchange programmes at tertiary institutions outside Hong Kong) must be routed through the tertiary institutions that the applicants are currently enrolling in. Applicants are required to approach the responsible Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of their tertiary institutions direct to check whether their respective institutions are invited for nominations, the details on the application procedures and the deadlines set by the respective institutions. Direct application submitted to the Heritage Museums Section will not be considered.

2. Applicants Studying Full-time outside Hong Kong
Hong Kong students studying at tertiary institutions outside of Hong Kong (excluding students of local tertiary institutions who are currently participating in exchange programmes at tertiary institutions outside Hong Kong) should complete their application form which can be downloaded from the website of the Civil Service Bureau (http://www.csb.gov.hk/english/admin/appoint/782.html). Completed Application Forms with copies of official transcript of studies and a letter certifying the student status (bearing the letter head of the post-secondary institutions they are currently enrolled on) are required to reach the Heritage Museums Section (address detailed at \"Enquiry\" below) by post or by email (syiwong@lcsd.gov.hk) on or before the closing date of application (according to postmark). Please specify on the e-mail or envelope \"Application for the Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2020\". Applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is affixed before posting so as to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application. Any underpaid mail items will be returned or disposed of by the Hongkong Post.
