Entry Requirements

Candidates should –
(a) be pursuing a Degree / Higher Diploma / accredited Associate Degree, majoring in Journalism, Communication, Language, Social Science or Media Studies, from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent; AND
(b) obtain Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKCEE, HKDSEE or equivalent [Note (1)].

Remarks: Candidates who possess –
(i) Fluency in Putonghua; and/or
(ii) Good broadcasting voice; and/or
(iii) Proficiency in Chinese word-processing; and/or
(iv) Sound knowledge of current affairs; and/or
(v) Skill and knowledge in video shooting and editing
will have an advantage.
Remarks
(1) ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (2) Required to work shifts / irregular hours including midnight; (3) Required to work outdoor; (4) Candidates may be required to sit for a trade test.
 

Duties

Successful candidate will be deployed to work in reporting team. To report local and breaking news, take video and photos for the web, translate, read and rewrite wired news; produce news reports and news-related specials.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for not more than one year. Working time per day will be approximately 9 hours and working time per week will be less than 18 hours.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

Completed forms should be sent to the address below by post or by hand on or before the closing date for application. For submissions by post, applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is paid.
