Salary History

Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent [see Note (i)];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) At least 10 years' post-degree teaching, implementing support programmes, quality assurance and/ or curriculum development experience related to students with special educational needs (SEN) [see Note (ii)];
(d) Good English and Chinese writing skills, fluent in spoken English and Cantonese; and
(e) Experience in training or assessing teachers preferred.
Remarks
(i) Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree course. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a second/higher degree in a relevant subject) should include details in their applications.
(ii) Candidates with the relevant experience should list the details and nature of the experience on the application form.
 

Duties

(a) To support the Assessment Panel in working out the assessment criteria and excellence indicators and to undertake research as may be required by the Assessment Panel of the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence [CEATE];
(b) To liaise with schools, nominators and/ or nominees on matters relating to the assessment of nominations;
(c) To support the Assessment Panel in conducting initial assessment of all nominations received such as examining nomination documents, conducting interviews, taking notes and compiling reports;
(d) To support the Assessment Panel in conducting detailed assessment of the short-listed nominations, such as conducting school visits, class observations, taking notes and compiling reports;
(e) To provide professional inputs for the publication of the CEATE Compendium, the preparation of the sharing session of the Award Presentation Ceremony, the production of publicity videos and information to be uploaded on the CEATE website;
(f) To compile a comprehensive report on the assessment work;
(g) To provide professional support for dissemination activities of CEATE awardees; and
(h) To assist in the professional and administrative duties.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$72,325 per month
(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. (b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
