Entry Requirements

(a) be students currently enrolled in full-time Bachelor of Laws degree programme (LLB) offered by local/overseas post-secondary institutions, or equivalent;
(b) have completed the second year of study or above including Land Law courses, or equivalent;
(c) have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
(d) possess good research skills; and
(e) have good knowledge of word processing and general PC applications.


Duties

(a) assist the Legal Services Division of the Land Registry in providing legal advice on registrability of instruments under the Land Registration Ordinance (Cap.128) and daily operation of the Land Registry; and
(b) conduct legal research.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service terms for one month between June and August 2022. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$10,500 per month
Rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays and sickness days will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance (Cap.57).

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the above enquiry address.

The students are advised to note the deadlines set by the respective institutions. Direct applications from local students will not be considered.

(b) Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should download application forms from the Civil Services Bureau’s website (https://www.csb.gov.hk/english/admin/appoint/782.html). Completed application form together with a cover letter (including the reasons for applying for the internship) and resume attaching copies of certificates of their student status, academic qualifications certificates and transcripts should be delivered by post to the enquiry address below on or before the closing date for application. Please state “Application for Summer Intern” on the envelope with return address. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid; otherwise it will be returned to the sender. Applications with incomplete information or without the supporting documents required or submitted by fax/email will not be considered.

(c) Interview is not required. Those who have not been informed by 6.6.2022 may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
