Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Psychology, or equivalent;
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note (iv)];
(c) A Hong Kong master's degree in Educational Psychology (Professional Practice), or equivalent;
(d) A minimum of 6 years relevant experience after obtaining qualification (a) above, of which at least 3 years as an Educational Psychologist in an educational setting after obtaining qualification (c) above [See Note (v)];
(e) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [See Note (vi)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and
(f) Good communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team.
Remarks
(i) For general awareness, a locally-accredited Hong Kong master's degree is at Level 6 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF). While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 6, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only master's degree in the relevant subjects is acceptable. (ii) Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a higher degree in a relevant subject) should include details in their application.
(iii) Candidates should state the nature and relevancy of the post-qualification experience.
(iv) Applicants without a certificate in education before the date of appointment may also apply. If selected, they will be appointed at a lower salary than that stipulated in the advertisement as determined individually by the Education Bureau.
(v) Applicants with less than 6 years' relevant post-degree experience (of which 3 years should be an Educational Psychologist in an education setting) by the date of appointment may also apply. If selected, they will be appointed at a lower salary than that stipulated in the advertisement, as determined individually by the Education Bureau.
(vi) For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(vii) Candidates who are invited for the selection interview will receive an invitation by email or by post before the scheduled date. Please ensure that the mailing and email addresses provided are correct. As it takes time to verify candidates' qualifications, an invitation for the interview does not imply that the candidate has met the entry requirements of this post. Duties

(a) To assist in designing, developing and trying out educational resources and materials (e.g. toolkits, handbooks, pamphlets, videos, and lesson plans etc.) for supporting students with mental health needs, promoting student mental health and preventing student suicide;
(b) To assist in organising and delivering training on promoting student mental health for teachers, parents and students;
(c) To assist in organising territory-wide inter-school competition on promoting student mental health;
(d) To assist in networking school teachers as resource persons for mental health promotion;
(e) To provide general and administrative support on coordinating training and resources production; and
(f) To carry out ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisors.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.

$439 per hour (Required to work not more than 16 hours per week)
